"My photographic works are conceptually-rooted and intuitive, exploring themes of Beauty and Shame, Decline and Grace, Rest and Sojourn. Through my lens, I discover Beauty resting everywhere, particularly in the mundane, the overlooked and the emptied out objects and spaces of life. I am interested in the painterly use of colour and abstraction. Current projects include "Monty’s", a photographic tour of an historic Winnipeg building undergoing transformation; "In The Event of Colour" – a body of work involving processes of abstraction and manipulation of digital images; and "The Remaindered", an installation art project to be completed in the Fall of 2006." - A E Teakle
